Congratulations and Thank You

Hello, all! I wanted to offer my congratulations on another successful and fun SHareCon. I would love to have been present in more than spirit, but y'all were in my thoughts and heart throughout the convention weekend. First of all, I want to thank Flamingo, Keri, and Cyanne for their tremendous work, dedication, heart, and soul in supporting and organizing the convention and awards, and to everyone involved in making the convention the phenomenal experience I've heard so much about, thank you as well.

Ksstarfire, congratulations on the Paula Wilshe Award -- I'm filled with joy for you, and I truly wish I could have seen you accept the award. I know that had to be a beautiful and inspiring moment!

To the Marian Kelly Hall of Fame Award winners, Dawnwind (Best Writing), Laura (Best Vidder), Beth (Best Vid), and Lorraine (Best Art & Best Artist), I'm sending all of my joy, love, and congratulations. Throughout the years, your creativity and talent have made our fandom so very alive and vibrant; from writing to vidding to breathtaking artwork, you have brought me countless hours of fannish delight and happiness, and brightened my world. Our fandom is so blessed to have you. I'm so blessed to be a part of fandom with you. Congratulations!

And finally, THANK YOU, fandom and those who voted for me in the awards this year. When I learned that I had received the Marian Kelly Award (Best Writer), I couldn't actually process the news as reality for a while. It was definitely one of those pinch-yourself-you-have-to-be-dreaming moments. I felt so honored and grateful to be nominated. Our fandom has so many shining Lights of words and imagery who have inspired me and from whom I've learned so much. I want to thank and congratulate my fellow nominees for all they contribute -- in fandom we draw on each other's energy and shared love for these amazing characters, and your love and energy enabled me to share my stories. When I write, it's my way of opening my heart and world to readers, and to those of you who keep those stories in your heart, who share those SH journeys with me, thank you so very much for this award. As many of you know from posts around the SH community, this is a very dark, challenging, and often frightening time for me in RL as I battle severe autoimmune health issues. This award is not just an honor; it's a miracle of light and happiness that does so much to disperse some of the darkness. Yet again, y'all have inspired me, and I promise I will do my very best to share more SH journeys with you in the future.

For those of you who have prayed, sent out kind thoughts and messages, donated to the gofundme campaign that my mother set up, and hoped for a positive outcome -- in whatever way you're supporting me in my struggles right now, I want you to know how much you all mean to me and how very grateful I am. For fifteen years, SH fandom has been family to me, and therefore I have the best family in the world!

Love, hugs, and blessings to all,
Kaye Austen Michaels (KAM)
