lions and tigers and bears, oh my!
Yesterday iamlivingmusic, a few other SMC girls without LJs, and I went to the zoo. There've been soooooooo many changes since the last time I went in like high school: Animals have been shuffled around, the kiwi house has been extended out the front with some more info on the kiwi and other nocturnal natives (or introduced; there was a bit on rats) and it's all been done up to look hilariously like a bach or something, a theater with shows (none of which I saw but hey), random sculptures of animals we don't have, Nepalese prayer flags by the red panda, a new playground based on a snake and a spider, and a new ~research camp~ and ~African village~. I feel kind of bad for thinking DAK did Africa better.
There weren't actually a lot of animals out yesterday; I guess it was too cold. We did, however, see the kiwi move and the lions up very close! And the sun bears almost started to go at it in front of us and it was so awkward that we left. :/
Hospi visits some much bigger lions!
Sitting on a hippo, man (despite the hippo not really making it into the shot). Clearly continuing my trend of sitting on animal sculptures.
I brought up my meerkat observations in theater class and now my friend's character is inspired by a meerkat B) My director said the zoo visit totally counted as dramaturgical research!
And then a bunch of us made Skittles vodka and watched Hairspray and 17 Again in Chris' memory at Nicole's. ♥ I still want to make Skittles vodka properly though!
