HOLY CRAP
So today I went to a grand total of four classes, wrote by hand in a grand total of one, and partially failed at sports/cultural photos: I made it to three out of four (Teal (choir), orchestra, and prefects) and completely missed the magazine committee photo. Actually, I failed some more at the ones I did make it to, really: I didn't have my prefect badge (the ribbon's wrinkled) and then the orchestra's all a bunch of hosers who didn't bring their instruments. :| Lydia, Claire, and I had ours! Granted that's because Glocky (YES I NAMED IT) lives at school but still.
But you know what kinda makes that all better?
I GOT MERIT ON MY FILM. (This, for the Northern Hemisphere people - well, really anywhere that doesn't use NCE-sodding-A - is about the equivalent of a B.)
Of course, now Henjyo knows what little self confidence I have and thinks I'm crazy for it (despite her repeating at me that the standard tests your competency with technology and pointing out that my running animation for frame numbers and times was "clearly expert level", I was insisting I Achieved), but seriously. I was convinced I'd failed, I spent a ridiculous amount of time on it, and in all seriousness my other subjects kind of suffered for it (A- on the last photography internal and A on the chem test: AS ARE BAD IN OUR SYSTEM, THEY MEAN "YOU PASSED" AND ARE BRINGING DOWN MY AVERAGE AUGH).
She also thought it was a really interesting idea and it was very compelling even without the context clear and I should reshoot it. :O And/or think about animation.
oh god, Dive the anime. that'd be epic.
OH CHRIS AND GRACE SHE THOUGHT WE HAD SOME REALLY GREAT PERFORMANCES. DDD: WHAT. Supposedly our (so we thought) lack of acting chops "made it more natural or something". So wtf, we apparently can act. :O
Yeah, so this is making me feel a little better about even considering applying to overseas schools with probably better film schools than VUW (not that this is difficult). Hell, I'm even contemplating applying for UCLA. o_o;; I'll admit this is more than partially because I can't seem to find an application fee, wtf. (I mean... UBC = $100CND + $60CND if I go insane and apply for the music school, UCFV = $150CND, NYU = $75USD... I only have $100USD and that's for UBC. ._.;)
Who knew? I'm a filmmaker.
