Anyone on my flist ever broken their arm?
Do they keep you in hospital overnight? Do they chuck a cast on you and talk to you about your arm and let you go? Would they chuck a cast on you while you're unconscious? Does it depend on how badly you broke your arm? How long does it take to heal? Can you do martial arts with one arm?
I ask because I'm writing a fic with the prompt "trees" which I seem to have used by having one character fall out of a tree (“This is the last time you decide to have a picnic up a tree.”) and break his arm. Compound fracture I think (thanks Wikipedia), the radius is poking through his skin. He fainted before the paramedics got there, and he's woken up in hospital surrounded by family/friends and he has a cast on. It struck me that there should probably be doctors around and he probably ought to know about his arm, the problem being that I don't know about his arm. Oops.
