There are disturbing reports that the Kenneth Fire was deliberately set -- and when the alleged culprit was captured with a blowtorch in his possession, the LAPD said there wasn't probable cause to arrest him for arson.
OTOH, they apparently did take him in custody over a probation violation, so even if they can't tie him to a fire that is said to have "exploded" into existence, he should be behind bars for a good long time. Which may be just as well, because I'm thinking that, if he were let loose and caught setting fires again, anyone who caught him the second time might not bother turning him in to the cops.
