There's a new vignette challenge over at Sarah Hoyt's blog. My effort is from the Grissom Timeline, as Lisa Fox has to maintain her cover in the face of appalling ignorance of a subject she knows intimately.

There's also a new writing challenge over at the Victory Girls blog. My effort is from the Chongu Empire 'verse, probably very early in their history of spacefaring, as the hyenamorph Haherei learn some hard lessons about what happens when tribal people meet civilization. (It's a misstep, not a fatal disaster, as by the time humans are contacted, the Haherei are an established sepoy species, familiar with the technologies of spacefaring).
