Do you have PayPal? I got burned badly by Kickstarter a few years ago and so I prefer to go around them. I could contribute a little.

Ouch. Didn't know about that.

Don't answer if you don't feel comfortable sharing, but I'm wondering what went wrong. Backers backed out at the last minute and left it unfunded? Bogus excuses for not paying out? Something else? I know a lot of other people who have had good luck with it, but I've also seen people on the Kickstarter for authors groups on FB complaining about various things.

I backed something that didn't fund, and they did not refund the money. (This was early on); they also asked for a ton of personal data, and this was before the security breech when they took thousands of people's names and data. We had to change all our online stuff and I promised spouse no more Kickstarter, I'd go around it if I wanted to contribute.

Let me see if I can find that addy. I can't send much--we just had to redo a massive amount of plumbing, but something is better than zip!

Ouch. That must've been a long time ago, because as long as I've been backing projects, they've been very clear that nothing will be charged unless the campaign funds.

Sympathies on the plumbing issues. Those can really eat you out of house and home.
