Multi-media "Georgie Porgie"

Jul 08, 2009 04:22

"I can't sleep" turned into "I CAN'T SLEEP BECAUSE I CONSUMED TOO MUCH SUGAR" this evening, so I filled the morning hours with a craft project inspired by the nursery rhyme "Georgie Porgie." You know,

Georgie Porgie, puddin' and pie,
Kissed the girls and made them cry.
When the boys came out to play,
Georgie Porgie ran away.

Except I only knew the first two lines. They've been circling around and around in my head for the past few days, and I've been wondering about those girls he kissed. A little idea grew into a full-fledged ridiculous bring-out-the-glue-and-craft-scissors ordeal.

Instead of sleeping, I cut up an old book and made PUPPETS

Then I glued them to a box.

ANNNNNNNND I wrote a bad poem to go with it!

Georgie porgie, pudding and pie
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Till his ego grew too high,
and those girls decided George must die.

The girls they gathered from afar
And all discussed dear Georgie's charm
along with all his tricks and harm
then gathered all, arm in arm.

The dragon they chose would be the best
and most apt way to put George to rest
Thus they adjourned their meeting on the pest
and set out to the serpent's nest.

The plan was set, the course was good
So now to lure George to the wood
Wherewithin the wyrm's cave stood,
The girls drew Georgie as only girls could.

But when he saw where the serpent lay,
Georgie decided not to stay.
When the snake came out to slay,
Georgie Porgie ran away.

As Georgie ran his teeth did clack
Chance of survival he knew was black.
The snake ate poor Georgie, snicker-snack,
And that's the bloody end of that.
