My first day of class today. There were about 15 girls and two boys in the class- normal for an education class, I guess. One of the boys was cute and friendly, the other irked me. Most people start the program in the fall semester, so almost everyone was BFFs already from taking class together last semester. But I don't care. I'll be the quiet, mysterious one.

I had to control my eye-rolling when one girl decided to comment on the introductory overarching questions for the class. They were just lame, nitpicky comments and it definitely seemed as though she just wanted to hear herself talk.
When she had introduced herself to the class earlier, she was quick to explain that she was a lawyer- and when she made this lengthy comment later, she was sure to mention about 3 MORE times that she was a lawyer ("Maybe the reason why these questions *bugged* me is that I'm a *lawyer*, see... so that's how I *think*").
I'm sure you can imagine how badly I wanted to smack her. We get it, you're a lawyer. You went to law school, and you think that makes you smart. You might be. But right now you're in grad school to work in special education, and I can guarantee if you walk around schools constantly spouting off about "being a *lawyer*, see", you're going to have quite a few enemies. That elitist crap doesn't fly with many teachers.

Anyway, I noticed that most of the girls are quite thin. Perhaps that means that this grad school thing causes weight loss. And I just weighed myself and I noticed I've lost about .25 lbs already. And I've only been to one class- sweet! I'll let you know how it goes. This could be revolutionary research.
