• Much as I'm backing France, I actually think that Uragay will win this one, mostly because of how much France struggled to qualify (and even then, it was hotly contested...  just ask the Irish who won't. stop. whining. about. it.)

• Those horn things are immensely irritating. I don't care if they're traditionally South African, and bring the spirit of the nation to the game. It sounds like a gigantic wasp is stuck in the stadium. It's distracting. I can't help but feel that during our matches, some of those people are going to get punched in the face if they drown out any one of our five thousand and ninety football chants, and songs.

• Also, this fan comic strip is gorgeous, outlining the path that Spain took to this World Cup, with cameos from the Italy bros, England, Prussia, and Germany. Very lovely.

• I love these fabulous neon orange trainers that loads of footballers are wearing.

• I'm both excited, and dreading tomorrow's game. Because football is a bitch of a game, and the better side doesn't necessarily win (and when I say "better", I mean statistically, FIFA- ranked "better") so really, on paper we'll win, but in reality... God only knows. Urgh. Facking stress!

• That being said, I don't mind who wins. I'd love to see us win, but realistically, we won't. I'd rather to see a European side take it, preferably Spain, Portugal, or Germany. The only side I really, really don't want to see take it is Argentina. Argentina is a big, fat DNW.
