So 2 weeks ago today i got home from work feeling like it was going to be a great week minus the fact that John was sick. Then 2 hours later i felt like someone pushed me down a flight of stairs. Tuesday we were both a complete mess. We had high fevers, cold sweat, harsh coughs, migraines, and we felt so sore. WE were told it's most likely that we have the swine flu and that we should take a week off and get some rest and fluids. I took 3 days off and John took 2. We felt much better by Friday. Last week I could not stop coughing but everything else was fine. John and I both had a bad cough but it was livable. I wake up this morning to chest, rib and back pain and also I'm having trouble breathing. I go to work for 2 hours and then suddenly i'm having the worst chest pain of my life and my coughs sound horrible. I go to the doctor where i learn I now have a lung infection. I tell my boss what is happening and the fact that I'm quite contagious. My boss and the other employees treat me like I'm taking time off for a holiday. I understand that he is running a business but you have to accept the fact that with this flu going around your employees are going to get sick. Don't treat me like its my fault that you are going to be behind. I didn't seek out a lung infection. One of my fellow employees had H1N1 the same time I did and when i told her that i wouldn't be in for a couple days she was annoyed and angry. She should be more concerned than anyone. Her immune system is still not in tip top shape. Even though I'm going through all this trouble I can still say that this illness is just a flu. It's bad but i've been through worse. When this is all over I feel like getting a shirt that says "I SURVIVED H1N1"
