First day of class? well...

On the way to my first class at 10am, I almost hit about 400 kids which caused me to walk a half hour from my apt to my second class and if I never have to drive on campus again, it will be too soon. Haha.

My art history class seems like it's going to be a riot. It's proto-renaissance through early 19th century. The professor is comical and forgot his notes on the kitchen table, so we had an improv lecture today which consisted of: ninja turtles, particularily Raphael, Vasari's three stages of life with incorrect Italian spellings & poor penmanship, dismissing sculpture as garbage, a very quick rundown in slides of the difference between italian, german, & french gothic artictechure and talking about Ghiberti's "Gates/Doors of Paradise" that are in the Art Institute of Chicago right now through October 14th that I would give my left arm to see. Plus, he doesn't do slide exams which is a complete relief because I really suck at memorizing them, he does however do slide comparisons but will give us the artist and the name, that shouldn't be too hard.

And my French class was ridiculous, and I really didn't need it for anything and frankly didn't want to spend the time on it, so I dropped it and picked up Russia through the Reign of the Catherine the Great. Sounds complex, I know but the prof is supposed to be excellent.

Plus, this way, I'll only have to take 15 more History credits to get my History Major. And perhaps a minor in museum studies? We'll have to see. But for sure a Masters in Curating. Even though it will probably have me living in a box with it's starting salary of $40,000/year...
