odo & merry - blendish thing.
as you very likely may not know, i have four hobbit characters. they are the children of meriadoc brandybuck and estella bolger. the appendices in ROTK don't list any children of these two; it only mentions that merry has a son. since merry is my favorite, i was quite bothered that i didn't have any merry-spawn to draw. ;_;
four just seems like the perfect number to me, and out of all of the "four hobbits," merry seems to me the one that would have twins. begonia is his oldest daughter, who is very unlike her parents. clover is next, and she is a mischevious little rascal, just like merry and estella both were. then there are THE TWINSES, odomac & merimac. odo is the one who eventually inherits his father's title (when meriadoc leaves the shire) and is the slightly more mature (ha!) one, whereas merry (as he prefers to be called) is the unholy terror, especially when teamed up with clover and their cousins. there is more info about them hobbit-kids here, here and here. :)
i was startled to realize that the little hobbit lad from the beginning of the fellowship looks exactly like how the twinses look in my mind. so i used images of that little lad to make a picture of merry & odo. do enjoy. :D
