Title: Wait - Threadverse
Pairing: implied Subaru/Yasu
Rating: G
Note: Sequel to Threads in
threadverse. (Won’t make any sense if you haven’t read the fic.) Set after
Threads and before
Rapture.
Yasu taps his pen against his file absently. Things have been different since Subaru left, like the atmosphere of the whole establishement has changed. Yasu knows that it’s silly, that it’s all in his mind, but it doesn’t make him feel any better. It makes it even worse, if possible. In the daylight, he doesn’t have much time to think about it as he runs from one patient to another. But, at night, it gets more difficult... and he starts to have regrets.
“He hasn’t call, yet?” Koyama asks and Yasu starts a little. Koyama puts a cup of coffee in front of him and takes a seat across the table.
“No, he hasn’t,” Yasu sighs and reaches for his temples to try and rub some of the stress away. “It’d be easier if I knew he was doing well, you know.”
“But Shige won’t tell you a thing because it’s confidential?” Koyama says, and Yasu knows not to get offended by the small smile tugging at his lips.
“I know that, of course,” Yasu pouts.
“A month is not such a long time...”
“Two months!”
“Has it been that long already?” Koyama sounds genuinely surprised, and Yasu feels like crying. “Sorry. I didn’t mean it like that.”
