day three in japan.
i thought i was over the whole "jetlag" thing, but i guess i thought wrong. my body and i are getting closer to being on japan time...but we've still got a little way to go. it's currently 7:12 in the morning, meaning i've been awake for four hours. i woke up and couldn't go back to sleep seeing as my body said it was 10 am instead of 3am...
or maybe i've just got anxiety about leaving the hotel and making our way to the next.
we're leaving narita this afternoon, headed towards tokyo dome for the Countdown tonight.
i can't believe that we're actually going! for the past year, it had been a running joke that i would usher in my year, the year of the tiger, my golden birthday year, at the tokyo dome watching massu do the same...but we're actually going. my life is epic win<3
i've really fallen in love with narita. it feels so much like home!
there are these gorgeous fields and rice paddies outside the window of our hotel room, and there's even a little farmhouse just across the way! it's all very charming, and although i'm kind of sad to be leaving (not to mention TOTALLY dreading the commute into tokyo) i'm glad that we'll have a few more days here at the end of our stay...id really like to poke around town and the aeon mall a little more!
maybe on our second round stay here in narita, kitsu and i can trek another 4km roundtrip to the market for instant ramen and "hot" foods...that will be hidden in our drawer again ;)we're ghetto, but we're from california so it doesn't matter! haha...
it's really amazing here...the weather is like salinas, clear and cold, the whole town is quainte, it's large, but still feels small and intimate...the roads are windy and wrap around fields and bamboo forests...on the way to aeon mall, you can see the shrine...it's really beautiful. if i were to move anywhere in japan, i think i'd like to live here in narita...i could have a little garden outside my house...the earth here is this gorgeous dark color and smells amazing when it's wet...it's just like home!
only three days into our trip and i'm already enchanted. i can't wait to see what tokyo has in store!
wish us luck in getting to the dormy inn!
