went to see hanson tonight host seacoast idol at the ioka. i must say, it was the perfect ending to the worst week in history. it was simply amazing. we stood for 2 hours in the freezing cold and rain waiting to get in. finally we got in... we were the LAST people to get in, and when i mean least, i mean we were literally the LAST group of people to get in. but the wait was worth it. before we even got in, kristen and devan went in to use the bathroom and happened to bump into isaac hanson. he said hi to them and devan ran into the bathroom and was jumping around and screaming with some 12 year old girl, while kristen was like, uhh which one was that? what a pair. so then we get in, and we wait yet another 45 minutes for the thing to start. so everyone is introduced, and hanson comes onstage and does their thing. amazing. it's sad to say, that even after 7 years, i still think zak hanson is incredibly goodlooking... even if his talking voice is a little high-pitched for my taste.
so the seacoast idol contestants go and do their thing... whatever. we're more focused on the three gorgeous young chaps judging the contest in the front row. intermission comes along, and all the judges file into the basement part of the ioka to decide who the three finalists will be. so of course, all the girls crowd around the door waiting for their return. so some lady comes by and is like "everyone needs to go back to their seats unless they are in line for the bathroom! hanson won't come up until the entire lobby is cleared." so dev and i got into the bathroom line... which happened to be right across from the basement doors. the line starts to move, and still no hanson. so finally we are at the very front... devan is standing right in the doorway and i am perpendicular right in front of the basement stairs, when all of a sudden i see them coming up through the crack. when those doors opened it was like the gates of heaven opening up before me. :-p
taylor is in the front, and i am the very first to greet him when he gets up there. he looks me straight in the eyes, and i am transformed into a hardcore teenie bopper... 4th grade style. like when i used to plan weddings with zak. taylor smiles and says, "hey ladies, how are you doing? waiting in the bathroom line i see?" "yep" i forget what else was said between us, but devan chimes in with, "can you guys play mmmbop?!" haha what a nut. taylor explains how they aren't set up to play anymore songs, so sorry but they couldn't. then he shook our hands and everyone else's and continued onto the theater to resume the contest. next came isaac who shook our hands and was just as friendly, and finally my favorite, zak. hmmm long hair or short, 10 years old or 17, he is still my favorite and as soon as i touched his hand i was brought back to my fifth grade days, remembering how i put all their posters all over my wall and dreamed of my perfect wedding with zak. if i was my fifth grade self looking into my future, i would have been having a seizure by then. no joke.
it was just great. i had never been able to meet someone like that on such a personal level. and it was awesome because there were so few girls there when they came up because they were threatened and forced to go back to their seats. those boys were so nice and even though i didn't have my camera with me, this night will stay in my memory forever. this was one night to remember, and it was just what i needed after this TERRIBLE week. so thank you hanson. you are great.
well journal, that has been the longest entry in a long time, and i hope everyone will enjoy reading about my fantabulous night. and even if they don't... i enjoyed living it.
