Dear Yuletide Santa:

Dear Santa,

Please forgive me the rather late posting of this letter. In reality I am a giant sloth whose full name is Procrastinator Procrastinating Procrastinated who plays a lot of World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings Online because it makes her feel like she's actually accomplishing something with her day(s). I hate you, false sense of fulfillment.

Also, I am a Yuletide noob. This is my first year participating. I tend to lurk and not actively stalk anything except the RP threads I write in, so I will probably be days behind every deadline or notice or whatever. But this doesn't mean I'm not excited, and looking forward to writing and to seeing what you have written for me! So, here is more DVD commentary on my requests.

1: Aliens series (movie)
Fandom Character(s): Annalee Call
I'd like to see something about Annalee Call and Purvis, the miner with the Alien embryo in his chest. Something about the very short scene in the movie where he tugs her away from watching Ripley sink into the Alien hive really touched me, as well as the fact that he attacked Wren to save her life even though he knew he would die, and horribly. It doesn't have to be shippy if the author doesn't want it to be; canon or AU, it can go any way. I've written two stories focusing on these two characters and I would dearly love to see someone else's take on it. :)

Honestly? I would die of squee if you took this request and made it shippy. I don't think it's as obvious in the movie, but there seems to be some one-sided feelings from Purvis's direction in the novelization (which I highly suggest checking out, if you can find a copy). But it's such a small fandom and such a small niche of a fandom--which is inhabited solely by me, sadly--that I would genuinely be happy to have ANYTHING in this vein. I guess if you'd like a stepping stone, you can take a look at the two stories I wrote, which are on my Fanfiction.Net page, a link to which should be in my profile. (I don't want to toot my own horn, but they really are the only two I've ever found for this pairing.)

2: Independence Day
Fandom Character(s): Constance Spano, David Levinson
David Levinson and Constance Spano, and how they got to the point they're at in the beginning of the movie. They seem so different yet they obviously once loved each other very much (and still do). What made them break up? How did Connie deal with it? We see more of David's side than hers.

Again, another instance of me desperately wishing to see another author play with an idea that I've already written fic for. Also again, I highly recommend getting your hands on a copy of the novelization--just make sure it's not the junior novelization (which is ass). It presents a lot more backstory for the characters to play around with.

Fandom: Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child - The Agent Pendergast series
Fandom Character(s): Aloysius Pendergast, Margo Green
Pendergast and Margo Green. YOU KNOW IT WAS THERE. (Viola = utter crap!) Some musings after Margo was attacked in Dance of Death would be utterly awesome. Or maybe something involving Relic or Reliquary, or afterwards? I know I'm being incredibly vague, but honestly, anything shipping those two would make my year. :)

I am dead serious. IF YOU GOT ASSIGNED TO ME DUE TO THIS REQUEST, MY LIFE WILL BE MADE. I've never written anything based off Doug and Linc's novels because I don't have the balls, and I would suck so hard at Pendergast. Similarly, I've never read any Pendergast fanfic, for fear it would also suck. But I would SQUEE FOR A WEEK if someone wrote me some Pendergast/Margo. I swear it was there. I have been waving that shipper flag since I first read Relic twelve years ago. (Oh fuck now I feel old.)

Fandom: Contact (movie)
Fandom Character(s): Ellie Arroway
Something with Ellie and Kent Clark. Please please please. Friendly, shippy, ANYTHING. Those two fit together way more than Ellie did with Palmer Joss. I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER.

There is nothing more I can say on this subject. Except, don't read the novel in this case. Kent doesn't exist in it. :(

In conclusion: keep all this in mind, but in the end, write what makes you happy, and write what you enjoy. Whatever you come up with will be awesome that way, and I can't wait to read it. :)
