Some Observations From Behind The Counter, Week of August 6th:
-WE DO NOT MAKE MACCHIATOS. If you don't see it up on the menu board, we don't fucking make it.
-Had a guy with the Coast Guard come in that just transferred to Montgomery from Kodiak, Alaska. Man, do I feel sorry for him. (For having to move here, I mean.)
-This old lady was in complaining that our scones are too hard to eat with a fork. I heated it up for her, but she came back like five minutes later saying it was still too hard. She'd asked me to get a fresh one from the back, but I told her I was only allowed to sell what was in the bake case, and that the scones are just as hard (if not harder) when they're right out of the fridge. She scoffed at me and walked off. Bitch. The one I bought from the Joe Muggs in Mountain Brook last winter was hard, too. Since when are scones soft?
-Pomegranate syrup and steamed milk don't like each other. (Read: instantaneous curdling.)
-The only upside to working weekend nights is that you generally make a killing in tips.
-IM IN UR CAFE DRINKIN UR COFFEE
-Had three Department of Homeland Security/FEMA people come in in one morning (what).
-God, I hate children. Especially when they're screaming like stuck pigs. And whatever parental unit is supervising them just lets them do it.
-If you get bitchy with me over a purchase, I will (subtly) get bitchy right back.
-For the last fucking time, we do not make macchiatos. Or frappucinos.
-Whee! I convinced someone to buy Relic! Always love it when I can pimp that book out.
