*Taking a break away from Ash seemed like a good idea at the time when she thought about it, there was way too much she was still getting used to in this world, it's very different to her own. [Naturally on these busy streets it was inevitable that someone would run into her, which is exactly what Jake did. It was his fault of course; he'd been half-dancing, half-walking down the sidewalk to some music over his earbuds, and hadn't been watching where he was going. Recovering from the sudden bump he jumped back with all the agility being a dragon dancer allotted him, and he looked up to find the person he'd hit. On seeing it was a woman his initial angry retort died, quickly backpedaling into something more apologetic.]

Oh man, I'm sorry about that! I guess I wasn't keeping my eye on the road. [Oops; have a little nervous chuckle.]

She blinks just a little not expecting the sudden bump she thought for a moment that perhaps He had found her here afterall. Feeling sort of bad because she bumped into a kid of all people, Saft just smiles sheepishly and rubs the back of her neck.

I know. Tourists right? My bad I should have been looking where I was going.

[Tourist? Well that explained why she looked kinda nervous. He put on a wide, confident smile.]

Psh, don't sweat it. No harm done. [The headphones were pocketed, as were his hands; normally he'd just keep right on going but hey, he felt bad for running into her like that.] Sorry again. You said you were a tourist, right? What're you here to see?

*She shrugs and takes a deep sigh, To be honest she knew very little about NYC and what parts she did know about this place she'd only seen from tv shows and movies even so, She'd better come up with something and quick as not to look so completley awkward in this bizarre little moment.*

Uh, there's a park around here isn't there? Though this is my first time in New York I'm not entirely sure if it's really here or not. And I heard about this big huge giant stone woman somewhere too The Statue of something or other-

Do you live around here or are you sight seeing as well?

Sight seeing? Me? Naw, I'm pure New York baby! [A snap of his jacket collar and a rather cocky, crooked grin as he looked back at her] And you're talking about Central Park and the Statue of Liberty. You need directions or something?

*What was that even supposed to mean? For a split moment she thought she'd be used to certain mannerisms but she was still caught off guard by them every once in a while. She chuckles a little and smiles.*

Exactly. Though other than you no one's really stopped to give me any advice which way I should go.

I'm not used to being around so many people in one place, It makes me wonder if this was such a good idea to come here in the first place.

Yeah, people around here are kinda like that. [A shrug; he was well used to that sort of thing] If you wanna get away from some of the people though, then Central Park is definitely the way you wanna go. Tourists go there all the time but it's so big, it almost doesn't matter.

Sounds like just the place I need to spread my Wi-legs! Because yanno, I'm definatley human and not...something with wings. *There's that nervous grin again.*

Right so I'm guessing Central Park is pretty central? I guess that should make it easy to find...

[Wait, wings?? That got his interest, and there was a brief suspicious look before he had a sheepish grin to match, laughing a little.] Y-yeah, me too. Human all the way.

[Never fear though, here came an easy smile as he held a hand out towards the road.] Central Park ain't nothin' to get to, you can just take the bus from here. [He grinned when she asked his name; this certainly seemed like a cocky kid.] And the name's Jake Long, superstar. [A wink, and the grin remained. Yep, cocky.]

*He bought it. Phew that was close. The last thing she wanted to do was cause widespread panic throughout New York because she might have accidently let slip her little secret. Jake seems a nice Kid and all but she doesn't really know him well enough to give him every little detail about her life.*

The bus sounds awesome. Now, Is the Superstar part actually some of your name or are you just trying to charm me?

*She smiles in return.* And I'm Saft. Er...*When in doubt use the last name of the closest person you know.* Saft Williams. And Thanks again Jake.

*She turns to leave about to try and cross the road when she freezes, she could have sworn she saw a certain figure on the other side, curling his lips up at the girl. Without a moment's hesitation she decide to run after him only...Saft hadn't really caught onto the fact that running out into Traffic was a REALLY bad idea.*

Saft huh? Don't think I've ever heard of that name before. [He seemed on the verge of saying something else when she suddenly ran off, leading him to stare after her very shocked.]

H-hey Saft! Hold up! WAIT! [That last word was shouted as he, too, ran after her. Straight out into traffic. Good going, Jake.]

*For a brief moment she could have sworn she heard someone call her name - seeing it's Jake who went after her but her attention turns back on the road but now there's a rather large truck about to swurve into her. Which is now pretty much giving Saft that deer in the headlights look about her.*

[For a split second there's a flash of blue fire and a red blur across the road, running right into Saft and knocking her out of the way. The considerably larger-than-a-human shape rolled past her, vanishing in a repeat of the flames. It was Jake who ran over to her from nearby (right from where the thing had gone, but who knew if Saft had seen that), looking at her in a wide-eyed concern.]

Hey, are you alright??

..I-I- *She sighs and looks down for the time being she almost got herself killed and what's worse Jake too.*

I'm fine. But how did you- I mean you were behind me just a few seconds ago and you managed to get over to this side pretty quickly. * Wait, what happened to that guy-?* Jake, Did you see someone over here just before I ran...Tall, Dark? Really creepy looking?

[jakenthehizouse]

How did--? [That question threw him off for a second or two, which led to a bit of stammering until, thankfully, the second question distracted him from it.] Wait a sec, what guy?

If you didn't then it's no biggy.

*But of course that means if that guy was here in New York with her then she probably shouldn't hang out with Jake any longer. She couldn't risk putting in harm's way anymore. But at the same time she knows that he could be in even more danger if she up s and leaves him all on his own.*

Listen Jake I-...*Sigh* I feel really bad for asking you to do this but I really don't know anyone here at all but you've already shown that I can trust you by saving me today. How would you feel about being my very own personal tour guide for the next few days, I'll pay you and everything.
