Not heard much from me lately, I know. There have been things going on, and I've been busy as all heck. But the big reason in the last little while is fairly simple and mildly tragic.
As of last Wednesday, I no longer have a job.
I didn't mention it sooner because I was asked to keep quietish about it, but the cat's quite thoroughly out of the bag now, so there's no harm to be done. I'm not going to get into why this happened on a public forum; suffice it to say, it was a purely business decision and no fault of mine. My boss was very standup about the whole thing, let me know early on so I could wrap up my loose ends and not have it sprung on me quite like I was being unceremoniously fired.
I got a little warning. I got severance and can go on unemployment for a little bit.
So... yeah. That's that. Yes, it really sucks... but honestly, I'm not looking for condolences here. I've no time to waste with maundering over this. Instead, I'm looking for new work, and looking to actually make this a stepping stone. If possible, given the market.
So, keep your fingers crossed for me. If you know of any opportunities or openings, by all means forward them my way; I'm an IT professional with three years' experience and a very solid background in Windows environments, Exchange, and basic networking. Talk me up, etc.
