Isn't it lovely? The snow. The lights. The wreaths. The movie specials on tv. The christmas carols. The presents under the tree. The fake santas at the mall. It's christmas alright, but i'm so not in the mood.
Well last night i spent a good 4 hours baking & packaging cookies for 8 of my friends. And just so you know, I've never baked cookies before, so i thought just to be on the safe side i'll buy two different kinds of the packaged pilsbury stuff, and one i'll make from scratch. And since I'm not much of a baker either, all i do is that bisquick apple pie, banana cream pies and a cupcake here and there. As a result, i don't have a lot of baking materials like rolling pins, cookie sheet pan things, parchment paper and cookie cutters. who knew these things were actually necessary? definitely not me, i thought i could make do w/ what i had, thank god before i started my mother just came home w/ parchment paper, and cookies were placed on this pizza pan we had which meant a lot of trips to the oven. Well after all that hard work of flattening and cutting out shapes (i tried doing gingerbread men & women, trees, stars, heart, etc.) by hand all 60 something cookies most of them were burnt since I got distracted from that old rudolph movie and the ones i tried spicing up w/ candy canes & white chocolate chips ended horribly.
However, i did have a few cute little ones that i gave out along w/ cookies my mom had been given from work to help make up for how bad mine were. =D
They were given out today, and hopefully they're appreciated. next year though it'll be better. i'll start practicing my baking after i buy some supplies. So school, so blah... which is what i get for going to school on the last day before the holidays. However i have to say the highlight of my day was almost getting hit by a door by the boy i like to call cedric diggory, as in the one from harry potter, as in robert pattinson. Robert is such a beautiful man, which is why his look-alike is my new fascination. I want to meet him.
