SO finally i had my cerclage on Tuesday at 9am. I was so anxious I was actually full body shaking from the time i went into pre-op until the time I went into Post-op. Apperently the saddle block can make you violently shake so that was the reason after the procedure where nerves was the reason before. So we heard the babys HR before and it was 142, after it was 134! then I tried to talk the anestesiologist into putting me to sleep or giving me something to relax me and he basically refused so I was left to deal with my crazy anxiety =( I went into the room and got ready for the saddle block, one cool thing I got a different anestesiologist in the room and I worked with him before at a clinical at sisters so I was happy. The nurse held me and they started the saddle, the lidocaine burned a little and the catheter going in did create some uncomfy pressure on my spine. Then they put the medicine in and everything went crrazy! My blood pressure dropped to like 95/40 and I started sweating, dry heaving, getting dizzy and almost passed out. The poor nurse that was holding me she had to catch me and then my head was on her arm and I could feel my sweat landing all over her, i apologized profusley! I felt so sick, i dont think I had ever felt so sick in my life. Finally they shot me with some epi and it rasied my bp and some zofran for the nausea, that helped. After that i was laying on the table and my feet were attached to lines from the celing to hold them up and I was raised to eye level, so embarrasing! The whole procedure was fine I didnt even feel the tugging and pressure they said I would. i was laughing and joking with the anestestiologst the whole time! The recovery was ok I had to take some percocet since the pain was getting up there as the saddle block worse off. I didnt leave until 5 hours later since it took awhile for all my legs to un-numb so I ccould walk to the bathroom. the last hour I was just waiting on my butt and back of thighs it was so weird. The doctor did say there wasnt much cervix to work with so Im hoping the stitch stays in place and holds bub in until at least 36 weeks! So I eneded my bedrest today and im just supposed to take it easy. Nothing in the vagina, no strenous activity, no orgasms until further notice. Im still in some pain but its getting better, down to only one lortab a day. The discharge was only a little and brown so I was happy no bright red blood.
besides that Im still looking for a job but no calls for interviews yet. I realy hope I can get someting for a little bit to bring in some income before baby comes, however; I dont think a lot of people want to hire a pregnant women =(
