14 weeks

I had my ultra-screen today/nuchal scan, as well as my consult with the high risk OB.

The ultra-screen is to check for markers that could indicate Down's Syndrome and other chromosomal abnormalities. It's a combination of a blood test (finger prick) and an ultrasound to determine risk factor of a baby being born with said disorders. There's one thing I know for sure, the NT (nuchal translucency) measurement was normal.

I also found out the gender. My regular OB wasn't going to give me a scan for another two months, but the tech asked if I wanted to know what it was and I said yes.

Someone is being a show off...

The dating on the sonogram is off, I'm actually 14 weeks. I didn't tell the office when I came in that my due date is still the same even though I'm measuring three days ahead of what it's supposed to be. No biggie.

Baby was moving his hands and beng very active :)

While waiting for my name to be called, there was a guy there with his girlfriend/wife/other half. She came out of the door crying so either the baby passed away, or they found a serious defect. It was sad to watch. I know not every pregnancy works out and it's sad.

The doctor said that because I am on medications, I will have a monthly growth scan to make sure baby is growing appropriately. Because of my health and the fact that there are health problems on both sides of my family, baby is getting a fetal echo. And later down the road, I'm getting a level ii ultrasound (anatomy scan), which every woman gets.

Still feeling good. I'm celebrating my friend's 30th birthday tomorrow by playing arcade games and having dinner. She was doing some kind of wine tour but I can't go because it's $130 a person and I can't drink, so what's the point? luckily, my friend is understanding.

The cat has another wound but it looks superficial. From what, I don't know. He's been indoors so I am thinking he did it to himself, or the other cat did it. She's been kind of mean to Leo since he got back, I think he smells different to her and she doesn't like it.
