TWILIGHT

I'm getting that everyone else thought this was a fantastic movie, but I do not agree.  In fact, besides the 3 minute Harry Potter trailer, I pretty much think this was a giant waste of my time.  Kristen Stewart is quite possibly the worst actress I've ever seen.  Bella has never been my favorite character, but she deserved someone better to portray her than a girl who said every line in the exact same monotonous tone.  And Robert Pattinson, while extremely gorgeous, wasn't much better.  All of his facial expressions were ten times what they needed to be.  And they had no chemistry!  God, out of all things to be missing, that should not have happened.  I have never been a fan of Edward/Bella, but they at least had chemistry.  Robert and Kristen looked like they were having trouble being in the same room together (which is funny, considering all the magazines claim they're dating now).  All the scenes of them felt awkward and I wanted to look away.  Besides that, which is enough problem in itself, the music montages were awful.  How many times can they sit in the rain in the forest and play stupidly ridiculous music?  Are they trying to make us think they have chemistry by never actually having any conversations?  When Bella delivered the line about being irrevocably in love with him (a line I actually really liked from Meyer), I was like, what?  You haven't even talked to him.  You know he's a vampire and you love him.  That's all that's happened.  Stephenie wrote fantastic lines for this book in general (my brand of heroin, lion and lamb) and they were delivered painfully and awkwardly.  I went into this movie with really low expectations (movies never come out as good as their book counterparts, in my opinion), and I actually tried to talk myself into liking it as I watched it, but it didn't work.  They ruined Alice, who just seemed weird in the movies and who I really liked in the books (she's probably my favorite character behind Jacob) and Jasper looked like a deer in the headlights throughout the entire movie.  The only things that keep me from hating the movie all together?  Elizabeth Reaser as Esme.  Jacob and Billy's relationship.  The fact that Jessica and Mike were absolutely spot on with the books.  That's it.  Sorry.  Twilight was my favorite book of the four and the movie was terrible.  I am in no way thinking New Moon will be any different, unless they recast Bella and Edward.
