I was annoyed to have to link my YouTube account to a Google Mail address, but simply fuming when the other day at log in they wanted MY MOBILE PHONE NUMBER!!

Not being anonymous on the net might not matter to some, but it does to me and the day I can't play either here on my journal, in fandom at large or on YouTube etc unless I surrender my real name, address, phone number and probably social security number and my DNA sample is the day I pull the plug on this machine for good and quite honestly the way Google and Facebook have been behaving? It won't be long.

Yeah, the connecting my youtube to google email was so automatic too... they seemed to already know my email address. O_o
I couldn't skip past the phone number thing either, so I eventually gave them one out of frustration. I notice you can skip past it now at least... I think you can anyway.

Grrrr, in general.

The cyber crimes bill is the thing that disturbs me most. That they will be collecting personal emails and be able to access them. How can we possibly feel secure online now.

iiNet will fight to the death and I think they will win.

Yeah, that one scares the pants off me, not only because it's scary, but because the first I heard of it was last week. Why do these cyber bills just slide under the radar?
