Why is it that we need other peoples' approval so much? Why do we judge who we are based on the parts of ourselves that are reflected back by others [which, in essense, is a reflection of a reflection and is bound to get distorted somehwere along the way]? How is it that we can so desperately yearn for others to know who we truely are, yet we rarely show them who we really are entirely? Why do we only show others the parts of us that we think they want to see? How do we know what the other person wants to see in us? And, why are we so sure, that if we reflect just those parts, that it will be enough?
