Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!!!

As usual my family stayed in and had our New Years Eve dinner. My paretns eat lobster while my brother and I eat steak. He eats a little lobster too. I watched TCM up until 11pm and then turned on Dick Clarks New Years Rockin Eve. Tradition, I love it. Ryan Seacrest was co-hosting it and with about 20 minites till midnight Dick Clark finally comes on. What a shock too. He had been recovering from his stroke last year that prevented him from hosting 2004's show. Regis did that one. He was back this year though to what everyone thought would be a fully recovered Dick. I guess his stroke was a little worse than we all thought though. It affected his right side apparently since he did not move that arm the whole night and his speech was mumbled and hard to understand at times. My family was shocked. On the contrary though he's doing pretty good for a guy that just had a horrible stroke. He had to learn how to walk and talk all over again and man do I give him credit. I love that guy.

Anyway so it snowed earlier in the day and me and my brother went outside to play in the snow along with Belle. My brothers friend Colin came up and said that he had to shovel his driveway so we went down to help him. Afterwards his mom invited us in for some coco. They left but I stayed and talked with his sisters and mom about Christmas and such. When it started to get dark I ventured home and turned on my trusty TCM and curled up on the couch to watch some pretty good movies to end 2005 with. I ate my dinner on the couch too, still in my pj's the whole day I might add, even at Colins house. Around 10pm I read some stuff to my mom out of the January TCM Viewers Guide and Decembers too. Then we watched Dick and then headed upstairs around 1pm. I stayed up until 2:45am i'd say. I was watching The Blob on TCM and fell asleep but thankfully I was taping it downstairs. It was Steve McQueens first starring role.

I realized how much of a homebody I am over this wonderful break. I would rather stay home curled up in a comfy blanket watching a good movie or a good classic t.v. show than be out partying or whatever people do. I've always been like that and even more so on this break. What a great break this was, lots of good memories to remember and cherish for a lifetime. Go out with friends or stay at home? I'd probably opt for the second of the two. I'm not always like that, but more often than not iam. I'm just a loner that way. I'm happy with it though. In fact I feel like making some soup right now and watching The Ghost and Mr. Chicken starring Don Knots. One of my all time favorite comfort movies. Talk to ya later.

-With Love
Amanda
