so it turns out ive been posting pretty often. i really have no input to the rest of this topic, but i feel liek i should get that website i mentioned going before i become some sort of addict. (no offense to anyone, its just not me).
i do feel, however, that since this journal is up and running nicely that i am obliged to inform you of some thigns in my life.
so i was informed of this information about 2 weeks ago. its the kind of information youre going to say "WHAT REALLY.. NO WAY!" or maybe something like "KATHY YOU CANNONT BE SERIOUS" you'll probably follow with a bunch of questions that i may or may not be prepared to answer. but throw them at me none the less. i bring this topic to the table because of recent events with one of my teachers.. and its been on my mind.
so at chris' graduation one of the speakers mentioned a bunch of interesting facts. a few caught my attention and nicely distracted me from my burning shoulders (which are now peeling..) (grossed out? me too) she mentioned that the future is inevitable, that we should do what we ( i say we like i was a graduate) feel is the best decision at the time, what makes us happy. you may not always have a second chance, but its better to live as you feel the best way with minimal regrets. she mentioned that children under the age of 10 will live approxamately until they are 115. thats triple digets my friend.
now, of course, this will be the average, it is quite possible to exceed the average or be less fortunate. now this is where my questions start. hypothetical, of course. will this increase the age of seinor citizens? think about it.. 65 would be like middle aged. this is just rubbish. next, when will people retire? granted now, people do work every so often at teh age of 70, like, little things here and there. my defense, however, i would suppose that with this new age of expiration youre health will be much better while at 70.. you'll still be perfectly capable of working. but then... would you reaaaally want to be that one occupation for 40 years? i wouldnt. i would get bored. ive realized that when im 50 and in my excellent condition, i may want to go back to school, pick up a new trade and start again. jeez, this is nonsense. do you realize how expensive gas will be when were 110? let alone 80? hopefully by then some super geinus will scheme up a transporter thing that will decrease the amount of cars... less polution to endanger htose crazy cheetas. OH MAN. all of our everyday pets will evolve into something else, rabbits will be borderline extinct. i know what youre thinking.. you bet im exaggerating. but fine, even if i am stretching things out a bit.. WHO would want to live for 115 years. you can fulfill sooo much. i hope the average american divorce rate doesnt increase, cuase then we could very well marry for 30 years, then get divorced and re married. this is absurd. im done with my rant.
so right now im a firm believer of doing what amkes you happy. my ever so kind religon teacher is kinda down right now, well.. very. but hes confident and loyal to himself. he did what had to be done and its respectful. but he is basically starting a new life, ill give the man credit, thats difficult. i hope i choose something fulfilling. i hope im doing something worthwile that when im 50 years into the profession i dont want to go back to school and learn somehting else. i hope im happy.
