New Poem/ Untitled

She bought a dress.
It was the green of his eyes.
Deep and wild and wonderful.
He bought a tux,
Spent every second he waited,
Pulling at the cuffs.

She came down the stairs,
Blinking at the camera flashes,
Of her pleased and proud mother.
He gave her a yellow rose.
These are the perfect moments,
From where the sorrow grows.

Three years later,
She buys another dress.
One in glorious shining white.
He wears the same old tux.
Today just like before,
He's pulling at the cuffs.

She walks down the aisle,
Each step a precious mem'ry.
She can't believe this can happen.
He gives her a nervous smile,
The sincerity will sting her,
In such a short lil while.

Another year passes.
She's wearing a t-shirt.
Pushed up to her hips.
He hurries there from work.
She's praying he won't miss it.
Hoping it won't hurt.

A few months later.
She's lonely in the house.
Just the baby for company.
He's always working late.
She misses him like crazy.
Gently touched by cruel fate.

Then his best friend comes to stay.
Tells her stories of their youth.
Turns out her husband was a player.
Hubby takes her hand saying yes its true.
But all that stupditity ended,
When I finally had you.

His hours are worse.
Least his mates there.
She's glad to have a friend.
But he wants something more.
She gives in after time,
But then can't remember what for.

Hubby's heart broken.
Toddler just won't sleep.
She's lost herself a home.
But worse she broke her own heart,
He's taken away her baby,
She wants to go back to the start.

The best friend left.
She knew he would.
She didn't ever want to trade.
But now she's lost it all.
The only man she loved gone,
She's left alone broken and small.
