I saw this and started singing "you don't know me, you don't know me at all..." Hehe. I love Ben Folds. Anyway...
Book: The Uglies, Pretties, Specials, etc. I hated them so freaking much. The plot was awesome, but it was not executed well at all. The writing was barely mediocre and just made worse by adding in those stupid made-up words. I really did try to read them all, though, but I just could not.
I'm not really into the Twilight series either. I liked Twilight two years ago when I read it, but I've forgotten most of it, and I hated New Moon, so I never read it all. It's quite sad, too, because before I read it I loved vampire and werewolf movies/books. Now, whenever I mention being a lycanphile or that I like vampire lore people always start talking about Twilight instead of something cool like The Lost Boys, or even The Little Vampire, haha.
The Scarlet Letter. Ugh. I can go into an hour-long rant on way I hated this book. I love classic literature, so that's why this might be surprising to some. I was going to read this book for school(we got to pick between a few books), and I got a collection of Hawthorne's stories in one volume. There were about four stories, each no longer than 400 pages, and all of the synopses sounded really interesting, so I had planned to read all of them. I started The Scarlet Letter and I could barely get through the introduction. I can usually force myself to read books I don't like, but this was impossible! Hawthorne spent the whole intro talking about whether he should write his memoirs or an autobiography. It had nothing to do with the story! Then, when I got to the first chapter(finally!), I found I couldn't focus, because he would interupt sentences to talk about shit that nothing to do with anything. By the time I got through the interuption and got back to the story I had forgotten what was happening. I would really like to bring Nathaniel Hawthorne back to life so I that I can kill him myself...or at least get him a decent editor. Geez.
Movie: The Notebook. I liked the young Allie and Noah(was that his name?) scenes okay, but the older versions of them were really awful. I know those actors playing the older Allie and Noah are great actors, but they were terrible in The Notebook. At the end of the movie I was just sitting there like "Huh? Are they dead?"
Also, I didn't really like Lord of the Rings. I fell asleep during it and I wasn't even tired. I'll try to watch those movies again, though, because I want to finish the film.
Band: Paramore. I have nothing really against them, but I just think they're like every other pop/rock band. I don't see anything special about them. There's another band that I think of being like that, too, but I can't remember what it is...
Food: Iced tea/sweet tea. Because I'm southern and that's a staple here, people are always like "what? you don't like iced tea?! you're not a true southerner then!" Yeah, whatever. I don't want to be a "true southerner" if you're gonna to discriminate by drink preferences. Ha. I really don't like tea in any form. It leaves a weird taste in my mouth and upsets my stomach. Another southern staple I don't like is key lime pie and everyone thinks I'm crazy for disliking that, too.
I don't like ketchup, relish, salsa, or real mayo.
TV: I don't think there's any television program that I dislike that people would be surprised by.
I don't like Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job, I think that may count, because it's popular. It is popular, right? I don't really know.
I don't really like The Mighty Boosh either. Someone told me I'd like it, because "it's like the twenty-first century's Flying Circus." Um, no, it is not like Monty Python. I had nightmares about the creepy cockney "eels" guy. *shudders* No, most definitely not like Monty Python's Flying Circus.
