Here we go again...
But don't get your hopes up, this is a quickie!
I do have a mobile number, and what’s more, you can all call it at no charge to me! As the Meteor guy told me, they are much more logical about phones here than we are in the States. The downside is that I still don't know exactly what number you would have to dial to actually get to me. This has been causing difficulties. But, I'm going to check on that today, and I'll get back to you ASAP.
In slightly bigger news, I found a flat! I don't have the exact address of that yet, either, so I'll send that along later as well. It is right off the Liffey on the north side of the river. I'll be on Church St, just off Arran Quay. I am sharing the flat with three Polish people: Martina (with whom I am sharing a room) and two guys, one of whom I didn't meet yet and the other whose name I didn't catch. They're really nice. The flat is small, but it will be much better than sharing a one bathroom flat with six other people! I get to move in on Saturday, so that will be the end of me lugging around a million pounds of luggage every day!
I applied for a job at Lush on Monday. The managers were all gone this week, so I'm hoping to get a call on Monday. I made quite a craft project out of my CV (shiny paper, magazine cutouts, and lots of glitter), so they had better give me a job!
This week hasn't been terribly exciting, really. I went to a "mixer" for international students on Monday night where I met the following: Laura and Jen from Canada, Sean, Katie, and Kristie from the US, Rudy from Germany, Sebastian from France, and Vinny and Ivan from Bulgaria. It was good fun, and most of us are going to the International Dance Party tonight at the Turk's Head. Rudy loves to dance, so I've been told that I will have to, too. We'll see how that goes! (If only Maggie was with me now!)
Sorry there has been a lack of pictures so far (especially of what I'm wearing!)! I haven't been doing much tourist-y stuff yet. Mostly I've just been trying to figure out where I am at any given moment. As we have realized, maps bear no real resemblance to how the streets are actually laid out in Dublin. As you can imagine, this leads to me wandering into just about every newsagents I pass with a puzzled look and a helpless, "I'm a bit lost." I'm hoping to get around to more stuff that is picture-worthy starting next week, and then the pictures will be flowing in!
Okay, I think I'm out of even mildly interesting things to say for now. As I said before, I'll send on important information as soon as I get it. (Important in that it will help you all to send me fun American things and MAIL.) I'll let you know when I meet my Irish husband! ;)
Love,
Molly
