I always feel the need to apologize when I write poetry. Therefore, I apologize. This took me far too many tries to write.
I would write you a poem, if I could.
Paint a picture of sunlight through trees
And title it: you and me.
I would have you see me in shattered glory
Have you piece me together,
Cradle me,
Lest a breath break me again.
I would lay my dreams at your feet
And bid you tread softly.
I would trust it in your hands,
My hopes and fears.
I would tell you I love you
If I could, I would write you a poem
Paint you a picture of shattered dreams
And title it you and me.
