When the ghosts are howling near...

So uh... a lot has happened in the last... almost month? I'll make this public for the hell of it.

For those who haven't yet been informed, my father passed away July 11th. It was really sudden and thorough and I really had no time to process it well before the storm of... stuff rained down on me. Family drama, dealing with dad's affairs, blah blah blah. And on top of that I was trying to go back to school full time and all this other stuff for getting my life in order.

So yeah, it's been a rough few weeks, but so far I guess I've done ok. I'm chilling at a family from my church's house since they had the opportunity to offer me my own room and stuff. I have yet to get my own computer hooked up to their net (I'm on theirs right now and it's positively ancient!) but my room is mostly set up to my liking.

I have a lot of stuff now. I would much rather not have the stuff and have daddy here but I guess it would be pointless and probably not healthy to sit around wishing for that when I know well that it's not happening. So meh. Just goes to show that material things really aren't everything. I guess when I get out of here though, I'll have literally a whole apartment's worth of stuff to use in an apartment. Handy. -_-

On a good note (there's a good note?) I am going back to school this fall with my eye on a music major. I have a feeling I miiiiight change my mind, but who knows? As far as school goes... I haven't done what I really wanted in so long that I'm not even sure what I want anymore, or if what I wanted then is what I want now. I think I know, but I'm just happy that I'm going back (and that my tuition is free, hehe). Also, I live with three cats and a dog and I love it.

The kids here are gone this week on a vacation so I have the house to myself while the parents are at work. Too bad I'll enjoy that very little as I still have things to do. XD I'm still thankful that I can be here though. The alternative was going to my mother's... and if you're familiar with my family at all you know full well why that is a BAD IDEA. BAD, BAD IDEA. Ehem. Anyway.

So yeah. I'm not even really sure how well I'm handling the whole 'grieving process' but I'm not a puddle of sad and I'm still sorta eating... though I seem to be having troubles with how the food goes down. Also, I can finally sleep now that I'm out of the apartment. It was too hard to sleep in a place that was home for 21 years... but just didn't feel like home anymore. In fact it really didn't feel like anything at all. It was empty and scary and I wanted out, as much as it hurt in the end to leave it behind.

Anyway, there's so much more I'm feeling and going through but I don't think I can put it all down right now. I'd just like to say that the VA can kiss my butt. I'm mad at them.

Oh, and red meat is happiness.

That is all. :3
