Aug 5th I went to the inside out soul festival....I had a great time, I know that Nissi would have loved it but she had a good time w/ gramma. The last band that played was toby mac...I LOVED IT. it was such a great performance.
anyways, as I was sitting eating my nice portabella mushroom sandwhich, I over heard some people talking, I listened closer, they were talkin bout that PETA was there at the festival and was quite upset about it. they were saying that it was wrong of them to show video's of how the animals were treated and then started saying that they were wrong and that Peta should look at Genisis in the bible......I couldn't bear it any longer, Ijust had to speak up, I said , "I'm a vegitarian" and then thier whole tone changed I didn't go into much detail but I told them that if Jesus were here today then he would not take part in the meat industry at all, they came with a lame comeback like " Well they shouldn't let small children see that stuff" and at that point I knew it would end in a n argument so i dropped it and finised my food and they proceeded to leave. It definately got me thinking though....I mean, kids watch so much violence on tv today and people get upset when they are subjected to the truth, I mean it's ok to let them play video games that shoot things, but god forbid let them know where thier food really came from. These same parents that are against the porn industry and the abortion industry are willing to let thier kids know the horror that lies within them, but they can't let thier children know how that chicken ended up on thier plate. so then it got me thinking even further, how people who know me and know that i am a vegatarian, think that i'm strange, or not chosing the right foods for my children,because I don't let them eat meat. they are pretty healthy kids and until the day that they can make an educated decision, i will continue to feed them only vegatarian foods. come on now, like beef rotting in your colin is healthy....ok well enough of my ramblings.
