Kitty

Today was certainly a day... I did a lot of running around, but that's not what this is about.

About 5 days ago i felt a lump under my cat's lower jawbone on the right side. I'm talking about my older cat, not Mercedes the black one. Marble is 16 and she had a tumor about 4 years ago, it was removed and it was malignant. So immediately i get worried and tell my mom she needs to take her to the vet. Her response is "let's wait and see if it gets bigger" my reply is yes... let's wait and then it can kill her. I gave up trying to convince her to take her in. So i noticed yesterday that she hasn't really seem to have eaten in the last 2 days. I get more worried. I called the animal hospital last night and made an appointment for this morning. I took her in and told the doctor my concerns and he said that the major problem with older cats is chronic kidney failure. I should also mention she hasn't been drinking water much either. He also says that because she's an outdoor cat there is cause for concern regarding feline leukemia and feline aids. He feels the lump and said it's her lymphatic gland and it's swollen, but if it's infection normally both sides would be swollen, not just the one. He says that is concerning. So, he says that he'd like to keep her for the afternoon and run some blood and urine tests and some xrays. I say fine but have to run the cost past my mother first. She says okay. So i leave her there for the afternoon, they hyrdate her so they can have a urine sample, take blood, and do the xrays. When i come back to get her the vet calls me in cuz he wants to talk to me about some stuff. He shows me the xrays and says her kidneys look totally normal which is good. Then he points out that there is a curve in her trachea, but that could just have been from the position she was in. He goes on to point to some areas on the xray around her lungs that he says are "areas of interest". This meaning there is some cloudiness/haziness. Okay... don't really know what that means. He says that they'll have the blood work results by tomorrow and depending on what it shows he might have to take a small biopsy from her lymph node. I brought her home, she still hasn't eaten, or drank. I'm raelly really worried. I can't wait to hear the results of the blood tests. Hopefully they'll show something. I know she's 16 and that's a lot older than a lot of cats make it to, but i love her SO much and i can't bear the thought of losing her. I've had her since she was 6 weeks old. She's my baby.

I'm just really really worried... I don't want to have to start force feeding her, but i might have to if she doesn't start eating by tomorrow.

Oy.
