Must... Rant....

I have to type this out. I need to get this negative energy OUT of me so I can enjoy the rest of my weekend. *deepbreath*

We get these referral points at work. Every time someone adds HBO, upgrades to a HD cable box, adds a phone line, makes their internet faster... all of that stuff and much more is considered a "sale" and if we put in a referral and the sale goes through, we get points for it. Every month, those points go into an account, and we can cash them in. Either for STUFF in their catalog (electronics, appliances, jewelry, ETC), or in gift cards to retailers, restaurants, travel, and tons of other stuff. They even have WalMart, Target, and MasterCard Gift cards (though the point "exchange rate" isn't as good on those). I have bought a baby monitor and a really nice convection toaster oven. Then I started cashing them in for Circuit City gift cards. Something like $450 worth at first. It was nice having those laying around. When Troy was having his birthday movie party, and the DVD player died after the first movie, I went to circuitcity.com, ordered a nice Sony 5-disc DVD up-converting DVD player that was on sale, chose to "pick it up" at the store down the street in Southlake, sent Joe out, and 15 minutes later we had a brand-new DVD player and the boys were watching their movie. All for free, since I used $180 worth of funds from my stack of gift cards. THEN, when I broke Troy's digital camera trying to clean the lens (zoom lens motor went kaput), I took my cards and bought him a fancy new 8.0 MP one for $175 and picked it up at the store. Free electronic toys make Starr happy!

So, fast-forward to this week. Monday the 14th, my points for the month kicked in. With over 1400 points in my account, I was eligible for $300 more in Circuit City Joy! I cashed 'em in minutes after they hit my account. The awards place ships them UPS overnight, with a signature required if the order is over $100. Kind of a pain, but worth it for the free toys. I'm off on Fridays anyway, so it's been pretty easy to get 'em. I arrive home yesterday, and UPS is blocking my driveway. I sit in the street, waiting. She moves the van. I pull into the driveway. She TAKES OFF. It was VERY OBVIOUS that I was waiting to pull into the driveway of the house where she JUST LEFT the notice, but she drove off. I even honked. No problem, says I, I call their number, arrange to have it delivered today, Friday, my day off. I wake up today and wait. And wait and wait and wait. I'm in my living room. The baby cries in the hallway. I go to retrieve him, and hear a diesel engine revving up outside. I fly to the door and throw it open, and there's ANOTHER "We missed you" notice stuck to it!!!!!!! I wave my arms. She zooms away. I try my doorbell... evidently doesn't work (news to me, don't know when that happened). BUT broken doorbell aside, I asked SPECIFICALLY for it to be delivered today. My car was in the driveway. My TV was on. My baby was crying. I know she HAD TO HAVE NOTICED at least one of those things. If no one answers the doorbell, wouldn't one at least want to give a little knock on the door, just to make sure??

So, livid, I call UPS customer service. They are very nice and apologetic. They tell me they'll try to get her back today. So about 5:45, Ms. UPS comes back and POUNDS on my door. I answer and she immediately starts in with an attitude, telling me how she rang the doorbell AND knocked, and stood there writing out the notice. SHE DID NOT KNOCK. I was sitting in my recliner 12 feet from that front door, I think I would have heard a F***ING knock!!! I told her I had a crying baby in here, my doorbell is broken, and that she did NOT knock. She started to mouth off again, then thought better of it, said "nevermind" and stomped off to her truck. GRRRRRRRRR. I got my $300 in Circuit City Joy, though. And now that I've typed this out, I can let go of it.

STUPID. UPS. WHORE.
