20 Years Ago, I... was 19 years old, I had quit ETSU in May (my Junior year) because I ran out of money and the will to go to school any more. I was working the overnight shift at Jack in the Box, and contemplating joining the Army for the college money.
15 Years Ago, I... just got out of the Army in May. I was about a month away from meeting Micky (Troy's father), and I was living on my own in a rental house in Denison, TX. I think I was working as a temp at UPS.
10 Years Ago, I... had just quit my job at Reedrill and moved myself and my 3 year-old son to the metroplex. I got an apartment in Plano, and was working at a company called Today's Temporary on their internal help desk. It was my very first "tech support" type job.
5 Years Ago, I... had just finished my first season in SAPA, and Troy and I were living in Grapevine at Dove Park Apartments. I was working at Netier with all my geeky friends.
2 Years Ago, I... was about to celebrate my first wedding anniversary by going w/ Joe next month to a Cowboys game & a Stars game in the same weekend (1st anniversary - Paper!). Early October, we were having mini Firefly marathons so we could finish the DVDs before the Serenity movie came out. It was also the beginning of The Great Struggle to Get Paid at IGI... I'm sure Redwing remembers it well. Did you ever get all your pay, btw??
1 Year Ago, I... was HUGE pregnant, working at Verizon, usually on the late 3:30 - midnight shift. We had just gotten into watching Heroes, only a few episodes in, and I was taking Texas Government at UTA, online.
So far this year, I... have had a baby, bought a house, moved, went back to work after a four-and-half-month break, breastfed successfully for 8 months (so far!), found out three good friends are having babies of their own, changed shifts several times at work, and FINALLY got a shift with weekends off! :-)
Yesterday, I... Spent some time w/ my baby in the morning, worked for eight hours, came home and had yummy pork chops and spaetzle, and watched The Office and a few other shows out of the DVR with Joe.
Today, I... let the baby sleep in because he seemed to be feeling a little icky. Got him & myself ready, dropped him off, went to work, endured 8 hours of mean people in terrible moods yelling at me on the phone, then came home to my adorable baby and happy husband chillin' in the Adirondack chairs in the front yard, watching cars go by. I fed him CHICKEN for the first time (today's his 8-month birthday, time for MEAT!!) Then we had Chicken Express, watched "Reaper", and I nursed the baby 'til he finally fell asleep.
Tomorrow, I... will get up early with Alex, make coffee, get some errands done, help Joe & Troy with the yard, get to the post office early enough to pick up whatever "Homeowner or current resident" certified B.S. letter they keep sending us notices for, maybe window-shop for Toyota Highlanders, and hopefully get some painting done on the half-bath.
This weekend, I... will get stuff done around the house. Dishes, laundry, half-bath painting, yardwork, vacuuming, floor-mopping, clean the fridge, change the sheets, wash & put away the babies clothes, meal plan, grocery shop, pump, nurse, and pump some more so I have plenty of milk next week.
