its funny. ive been putting off writing my journal entries for american lit, but once i finally started- it took me about 2 minutes. & its kinda deep.

I find it funny how as young kids, we absolutely could not wait to grow up. We couldn't wait to be old enough to go to the movies without our parents, couldn't wait for high school, couldn't wait to finally pass our road tests and have the experience the freedom of the open road. We rushed through moments that we declared unimportant, while forever anticipating the proposed "great" ones. When we were finally old enough, we realized that going to the movies alone is cool, but it's better when our parents are there to pay. High school really is so much harder than middle school, and while having your license is amazing, gas prices and speeding tickets aren't. Somewhere in the middle of this rush, we found ourselves feeling like we just spun in a million circles, we're dizzy. We find ourselves wishing that for once, time would slow down, and we could have just a little bit more time. Suddenly, growing up seems scary. We wish that we were young again, and everything could be fixed with a bandaid and a kiss from mom.
