Vacation Update
So I'm back.. We left Sunday during the pouring rain, it was a good trip down. I was very proud of jinx on the way there, not much of the "Are we there yet" which I fully expected.. Pulled into Padre about 8:20 and by the time we got to the actual camp site it was dark, setting up in the pitch back is so not fun or recommended.. We had sandwiches for dinner as it was the easiest to make at that time at night.. And both the kids went to bed rather early..
Monday morning.. Jinx of course made a new friend a camp site or two down from us and spent allot of time hanging out with the little boy and his aunt their names oh yeah Joshua and Mandy.. Both very nice the played together for a long time that morning, and Lori and I got ready to go down to the beach.. Let's see what did I forget, oh yeah sun screen.. After a long day at the beach, we all went to take a shower and rinse the salt off.. And when I looked in the mirror there I was very sorry I had forgotten that one little thing oh wait Not little HUGE thing.. I pretty much looked the same color as a cherry tomato.. Both the kids as well look like that, finally got jinx to calm down and got him slathered up with bull frog aloe stuff and into the tent for bed which I must say was the worst night of my entire life.. I could never get comfortable, everything that touched my skin felt like nails.. And both the kids would wake up at various times to complain and cry about it.. Fast forward to..
Tuesday morning.. After I think the thousand time that I heard both kids saying I want to go home, I got out of bed looking worse than when I went to bed, and spoke with my friend who went with and we decided that we would come back that day.. So we packed up everything as fast as we could and headed out at about 10:30 or so.. We got back to Lewisville at about 5:45 and unpacked everything and I headed back out to get dinner for the night cause I wasn't cooking crap.. I stopped by CVS on the way home and the first thing the Manager and Photo lab guy said was "Oh honey follow us" I hadn't even opened my mouth. The got me to buy this real jelly blue stuff that has menthol and lidocaine in it.. So I got home had dinner and then took a Luke warm cold shower and then lathered up with that stuff. It cools off very well.. Got both the kids to do the same and they are looking much better and their attitudes are much better.. Good for them I might lock them in their rooms if it didn't change.. LOL Me on the other hand, appear to have 2nd or 3rd degree burns and my ankles and legs are swollen.. I still can't sleep very well cause not much can come in contact with my body..
So anyway, all in all it was a good trip my son got to go on a long care ride, and got to see the ocean for the first time. My daughter got away from her cell phone for more than 2 minutes, and that was good too.. Me.. well let's just say that I learned my lesson, never go to the beach without SPF 5000 if you can get it.. And don't think just cause you used to tan so well, doesn't mean you can handle what always happens first.. The BURN..
