This turned out to be pretty easy. I looked at my archives for April 2010 and I found an entire entry about the 'guilt' that came with finding a leak of the (then) forthcoming album from The Gaslight Anthem, American Slang.
It's tough in the digital age. Part of me always wants to honor the artists intention and not hear something until they planned for people to hear it.
But, then again, release dates are set by record labels. Bands and artists true intention is to have people hear their music and get paid for it accordingly (sometimes not in that order). And given that there was no way in hell I wouldn't buy American Slang when it came out officially (June of last year) I got over the guilt of snagging the album leak online pretty fast.
I was immediately blown away! A perfect follow up to The `59 Sound (2008) and highlight, in my opinion, by this track.

American Slang was my favorite album of 2010, too. Now I have to wait until 2012 for a new Gaslight Anthem album. :(
But the good news is that lead singer and main songwriter Brian Fallon has a side project due to put out a disc this year. I can't wait to hear what Horrible Crowes -- Fallon's collaboration with guitarist-singer Ian Perkins -- sounds like. :)
