I think I'd be "Sister Christian" by Night Ranger, because of its brilliant evocations of the apocalyptic implications of virginity loss . . . and, once upon a time, I really did worry that the world would end before my, um, state of purity did. ;-)

I remember friends of mine having REALLY SERIOUS CONVERSATIONS about "Sister Christian." About how it was really a critique of Christianity.

Hmmm. If I had to be a power ballad...

It's probably stretching the definition of the genre, but I'm going with "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica. It's a ballad, it's certainly powerful, and to my ears, it sums up what love is perfectly.

Fun question! back2me February 7 2009, 07:10:52 UTC
My first thought, of course, was "Sara" by Starship, but....that's too obvious.

I'd be "More Than Words" by Extreme, because I'm better at showing my feelings than I am at verbally expressing them.

I think I'd be "Every Rose Has It's Thorn." Just because.

Or, "Is This Love" by Whitesnake, because I can imagine Tom Jones singing it.

Did I ever tell you that I concocted an "Ultimate Power Ballad" once on tape, by splicing together various lyrics from all the power ballads of the day. The best part, though, was the extended guitar solo that features bits and pieces from probably 10 or 12 different power ballads into one incredibly bitchin' solo.

I had not heard this tale but, knowing it now, I am reminded once again why you're my parallel life brother. :)

Ohhh... I'd definately be "I don't want to miss a thing" by Aerosmith

I'm finally in a relationship with someone that values me as an individual and loves me unconditionally. I've just spent 2 weeks off work taking care of him after surgery and he stil treats me with as much respect and adoration as when we first got together a year and a half ago.
