This one actually pains me...
*Clears throat*
With my Colorado Avalanche 8 points out of a playoff spot and only 12 games remaining in the season it will take more than just the Avs continuing to play their best hockey of the season (6W-0L-1OTL in their last 7!); they will need for the team(s) they're chasing to lose some as well. The most realistic possibility is to catch and then pass the Calgary Flames, who currently sit 8 points up on the Avs but have also played 1 more game than Colorado has and, further, have to face the Avs two more times before the season ends. Put simply: The Avalanche need to keep on truckin' and the Flames need their current 2-game losing streak to become a 3-game losing streak when they play Minnesota this weekend. Yes, I shall be rooting for Minnesota... but that isn't a big deal. What is a big deal is what I have to do this Tuesday and, oh shit, how it hurts my fucking soul right down to the molecules: I have to cheer for Detroit. To win. Against Calgary. In regulation. *Gulp*
I think I just felt a little throw-up in my mouth.
Alas, what is good for my Avalanche is what is ultimately good, period. So come Tuesday I am...Jesus, forgive me...pro-Red Wings. Go Detroit!
Please forgive me for my sins. Or something.
That is all.
