Thanks to everyone who sent me their best wishes regarding the loss of Cheetah. We're still very sad, and I'm still crying a few times a day, but the sadness is punctuated by small periods of gladness just remembering how lucky we were to have her. We also have moments of laughter remembering funny things that she did, or just remembering what a legendary cat she was.
Some of you may know that Ryan and I are writing a novel. It started with an idea that we had years ago, but it took us until this year to get started. It's based on the personalities and interactions between our cats and set in a fantasy setting with airships. We've been writing at a cafe in Belconnen every Sunday morning. It was very hard to write last Sunday, as we didn't expect that one of our muses wouldn't live to see the novel being finished. Unfortunately that wasn't the way it worked out, but I guess it's a unique way to remember her.
Also went to Marissa's pirate game on Saturday night. I had a great night, and it was just what I needed to take my mind off things. It was also one of the few freeforms where I actually managed to acheive my objectives, well except for becoming pirate king - but given that I started with a dinghy the size of a bathtub and no crew, I think that I did very well. My character (an NPC) was a female Jack Sparrow, so naturally in order to feel in character, I had to do the voice. The only problem is after fighting a flu for a few days, doing a voice like that for 3 hours meant that I completely lost my voice and could only whisper. It's kinda back now, but is all throaty and whispery. Still, it's sexier than my usual voice, so it's kinda cool.
