(no subject)
Since the "ten unique things" meme can be approached as a game/challenge, i'll try to make the last 5 in my "25 unique things" less specific. If you've had the same experience, tell me so and I'll cross it out.
Have you ever:
21. Encountered a wild bear (or other potentially aggressive animal/s bigger than you), in the middle of a forest, alone?
22. Had a bird "imprint" on you (a la Konrad Lorenz), as you handfed and raised it from a hatchling to an adult (extra points if you taught it to say "Hello")?
23. Taken a coast-to-coast train ride across any continent? I somewhat expect somebody has done this.
24. Been awakened by the concussive sound of bombs (the sort they drop out of warplanes, thousands in my case) going off within a few miles of your house, or heard a volcano explode in the distance?
25. Rescued an animal or person trapped in a well, with no other help around?
With that, I complete a self-challenge, and say goodbye to this narcissistic meme. It's been lots of fun thinking about all these things, and lots of other memories that didn't make the list - because they seemed a bit personal ("Had sex while hidden behind a waterfall?" was a strong runner, though), or didn't distill well into one sentence (5 months' worth of adventures while backpacking abroad), or just seemed too mundane (the vast majority of them).
