I voted the fuck out of Obama this morning, on the third try! The lines were nutty at early voting, and as I suspected, it wasn't as bad on the day-of...unfortunately I went to the library across the street to attempt to vote and was cockblocked because apparently I have to vote at some place a mile from my house instead of the library across the street from my apartment. So I wandered far and wide, found the alternate site, voted the fuck out of Obama, then drank the fuck out of some free coffee. (I am drinking SO MUCH free coffee today you betcha. I wish we had a krispy kreme or a babes in toyland in chicago because I would cash in on vibrators and donuts too!)
Obama's big ass rally is happening tonight downtown but I am skipping it because if you don't have tickets it's pretty much going to be one big nightmarish clusterfuck (remember how people died at the Chicago marathon because there wasn't enough water? Or how there was gallons of wine and almost no food at Chicago Gourmet? I can't imagine this will be much better). It is gonna be some muthafuckin chaos, and I am a wimp, so I am going to stay in and have cornish game hens, asparagus, sweet potato fries and apple pie with my burly guydyke unboyfriend and maybe watch the L Word.
Did I mention I made an apple pie? With a lattice crust made with cider and apples from a rural orchard? I'm just saying. It feels good to be an American today!
