I waited for you

as the Sun was setting in Nagrand,
within the silence of Orbonne's monastic walls,
on the steps of Karunth's encircling gate.
I watched the meadows drifting by
from Lady Serra's hallowed halls.

One hand on the stone rail of a moonlit balcony
of a castle captured by forces from the East,
the other resting on an amulet of Blessed Mara,
set aglow by the dying light of two trees west of West.

Sacred Triangles of Virtue waited with me,
along with the crystal seed of the silver Moon,
each ready to grant the wish of one who is worthy.

A young Empress with hair of white and eyes of gold,
an elderly man who writes and is ever old:

They are my only companions, and they too abide.

I will wait for you.
