Wow, that was the longest I've ever gone without making a post. Anyway, for Christmas I got Fight Club the DVD and the novel, High Fidelity and Grosse Point Blank for DVD, I got some jeans... uhh I'm trying to think what I got.. Oh, me and Alex got the new flip video camera.
And this happened before Christmas!! :
Alex had been getting headaches and been really tired, so a few days before Christmas, we took him to the hospital. They did a CT Scan and noticed swelling in his brain. They transferred him by ambulance to a children's hospital. He got an MRI, and some pain medicine for the headache. The MRI showed a tumor in the right thalamus part of his brain. He spent the night at the hospital, and so did we (Mom, Grandma, Me). At this point we thought Alex might need a procedure that would reduce the swelling in his brain surgically, and eventually brain surgery to remove the tumor. The next day Alex got his braces (for his teeth) taken off, because they were messing up the MRI scans, then Alex got another MRI so they could see the tumor better.
So right now Alex didn't get brain surgery and will not. They can't operate because of where the tumor is. They are not going to biopsy it either, because whether it's benign or not, the treatment would be the same. Alex is going to get radiation and possibly chemo. The success rate is very high in kids.
