So...I'm back on the Crack. Yes, I caved, and re-subscribed to WoW for three months. Thing is, I want a different thing from the game this time. I have also told Meg to keep an eye on my gaming time, and if she feels I'm spending too much time on WoW, to let me know. I am enjoying my time back, though.
We are settling into the apartment nicely. I have been down in the hot tub quite a bit, as I've added it to my workout routine.
So Meg and I were out at a BBQ/Jazz dance on Saturday, and started talking to Glynn's brother and his SO, both who are involved in a local community theatre group. They mentioned that they really needed a hand backstage. They needed someone, ANYONE to do some backstage crewing for them. Meg volunteered me. (She really twisted my rubber arm...I've been wanting to get back involved in theatre for years...)
So yeah, I'm now the backstage crew for Front Row Centre's "Brigadoon". It's been probably 12 years or more since I was last this directly involved in theatre. We had the tech rehearsal last night...and we were there from 6pm until midnight...and I loved it. I'd forgotten just how much I love working backstage, set changes, and all that fun stuff.
Amusingly to me, I am headed out this afternoon to see if I can find a comfortable, long sleeved black shirt. That's right, I have no "blacks"! I have let them all be phased out of my wardrobe! What kind of techie am I? *Chuckles* It's actually more that (oddly, to me...) long sleeves are required. I have a bunch of black stuff, but nothing long sleeved. I'm still amused though, as I remember a time where my wardrobe pretty much consisted of nothing BUT black. And no, I've never been a 'goth', just a backstage junkie.
