okay, so classes have been going well.
i had to drop Latin because of a very embarassing first and fourth day of class encounter with the teacher. fucker.
AND i had to drop poetry. shit i'm dropping these classes like mad. Eitherhoo, i'm down to the respectable twelve hours... but at UT that's just about average. :sigh:
anyway, the classes I DO have are amazing. I LOVE lamphear's History of War class. And of course, Morgan's History of Rome: The Empire is also good. And my favorite class this entire year is Prophets of Doom: Marx and Nietzsche (which, by the by, i have to do some class work for...)
so things are good.
also, i can't W A I T for the Mars Volta's new album to drop! Francis The Mute... it's a-comin'... their single, The Widow, sounds fucking amazing.
ah.
and then there is the sensation of being 21. it's good to be able to order a beer or a glass of wine wherever i am, with no fear of retaliation (i.e.: them finding me out) ... but now that i'm actually 21, the urge to drink (given by last two years in college) just seems sort of... redundant? silly? ... i dunno.
slept pretty well last night.
dreams come and go and sometimes i remember them and sometimes i do not.
tonight was one of the nights that i did not.
MOCK TRIAL:
as catherine says, is the epitome of pain and suffering in the entire world... blaah.
AH WELL things are good, and it's cold but the cold makes you lively, and the wind clears out any lingering summer memories of humidity, gives a pain in the ears and fingertips and other places that rarely feel pain. Winter is upon us. I feel like I brought back some of Dubuque, Iowa down here to Texas... oh, Dubuque was nice. But all we could do, when Jamie and I were throwing back a few with Mario and his wife (with THE REAL MARIO and his REAL wife!!) at Mario's Italian Café, as well as some local yokels, all's we could do: is talk about how GREAT TEXAS is. isn't that hilarious?
we're mad stereotypical.
let me try this picture shit:
this is me on my birthday. and robyn. it's magical...
here's utsav and leila:
