(no subject)
for those who have been in the semi-know... this was an email i received from aunt margie that was forwarded to her by my uncle from their sister hilda.
"I'm a blind, deaf old lady and nobody wants me."
To those of you who are not aware, Omi is now living in a memory care unit. The past 10 months at Annies,my place and another memory care unit have been extremely difficult for her and through it all the most important thing to her was/is her family.
She feels abandoned and rightfully so. She seldom hears and even less often sees some of her children and most of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will never ask for a phone call (it has become more difficult for her to hear) or a visit. The 4th of July get-togethers at Marys will no longer happen and holiday get-togethers are questionable.
Get-togethers at Huron Woods, where Omi lives, are certainly possible if someone will step up to the plate and organize one. It can't fall on me as my time is spent taking care of the daily issues and being with Omi almost daily. I have been off work for 4 months this year so I can do this. Mary has pneumonia and is not able to come visit now let alone plan anything. She will be down for quite a while.
I realize everyone is busy and our lives have taken us in different directions but we all can take time for something/someone important to us. There are 365 days in the year; there are probably 360 of those that Omi doesn't see you.
It would mean a lot to Omi if you could find it in your hearts to contact/visit her on a regular basis. Give her something to look forward to, give her a reason to live.

suffice to say i'm pissed. i've decided to fracture their little triad and pick them apart one by one. it's all about divide and conquer now.
